This is a simple transition that can be triggered when we hover over the element. But the transition doesn't seem to be smooth, because we didn't define the duration of the transition or use any the second animation will move the element from the left to the right and change the background color. I could not find any cool background transitions for hover with simple css, here is a few things i played with.

I'm trying to create a background color transition, moving from left to right when the link is on hover, but it isn't working. Instead of the hover css rules being instantaneous, both the background and the text colors are slowly animated.
