It all works changing it in chrome's devtools but for some reason when i implement it in the css stylesheet it reverts back to this

Pictures. If the image doesn't show then it's likely you have the wrong path or the image hasn't been uploaded where you think it has. I believe creating a folder within my css folder called images made it easier to find.

The reason your background image is not showing up is because you added the background property to a style rule for the body of your html document.
